ABSTRACT
This article is a reflection on facts — components of security reality confirmed in literature and political practice. They became the subject of an in-depth analysis — adapted to editorial requirements — using elements of systems analysis. The aim of the inquiry was to approximate the process of seeking a solution that would serve to minimize Russia's negative impact on Ukraine's existence. It was assumed that applying a systems approach could positively influence such a process, in which the Polish peace proposal presented to the Ukrainian authorities on March 15, 2022, in Kyiv — less than a month after Russia's invasion of Ukraine — had the value of a pragmatic solution. Unfortunately, it was not understood by the highest representatives of Ukrainian authorities. The considerations also indicated some consequences for Ukraine resulting from the rejection of the Polish peace proposal involving NATO. Reference was also made to this proposal in the context of the ongoing war that has been devastating Ukraine for over three years, as well as to recent attempts by Ukrainian authorities to introduce NATO troops onto Ukrainian territory. The issue of Ukraine's relations with the USA — especially during Donald Trump's presidency — was also raised. The outlined complex and unstable geopolitical situation in the world constituted the background to the problematic situation in which answers were sought regarding tools to restore peace in Ukraine. The study mainly used methods of systems analysis, analysis and synthesis of facts with elements of SWOT analysis techniques and case study.
