ABSTRACT
Poland, as a member of the European Union, benefits from structural funds supporting regional, social and economic development. The aim of the article is to determine what changes have taken place in organizations as a result of the use of EU funds in the years 2004–2025, on the example of the Prof. Stanisław Popowski Provincial Specialist Children's Hospital in Olsztyn. The research problem was formulated as the question: Have EU funds contributed to lasting changes in the functioning of the Provincial Specialist Children's Hospital named after Prof. Dr. Stanisław Popowski in Olsztyn, and if so, in what areas of management? The research hypothesis was verified: The implementation of projects co-financed by EU funds contributed to increased resource management efficiency, the development of the Provincial Specialist Children's Hospital named after Prof. Dr. Stanisław Popowski in Olsztyn, and the impact of these activities on the quality of healthcare. The analysis covered eight pillars of hospital development: quality of care, infrastructure and technologies, staff competences, financial management, inter-institutional cooperation, patient relations, research and innovation, and sustainable development, enabling the assessment of the implemented investments and their impact on the functioning of the unit. The results indicate significant changes in the structure and quality of services provided.
