ABSTRACT
Logistic processes play an important role in an enterprise. Security in logistics processes is a very important element that ensures the continuity and uninterruption of these processes. Nowadays, ensuring security in logistics processes interpreted by experts as effective coordination of the flow of raw materials, materials and finished products for the consumer is a challenge, because the effect of uncertainty is a sense of lack of security and stability. And yet, unpredictability and turbulence are an immanent feature of the environment today. The aim of the article is to present how the application of the SMED (Single Minute Exchange of Die) method can contribute to increasing the security of logistics processes in the selected enterprise X. The subject of the research are changeover and operational processes in the logistics environment. The subject of the research is a selected logistics enterprise that has implemented optimization activities using the SMED method. The research problem was formulated in the form of a question: How does the implementation of the SMED method affect the level of security of logistics processes in the selected enterprise X? Working hypothesis: Implementation of the SMED method in a selected logistics company contributes to increasing the level of safety of logistics processes by shortening the changeover time, reducing the risk of human errors and improving the coordination of operational activities. The research was carried out on the basis of available information using theoretical and practical scientific methods. The results indicate that the implementation of the SMED method allows for a reduction in the operation time, but also reduces the risk of human errors and accidents. The article presents a case study and recommendations for business practice.
