ABSTRACT
The issue of organ transplantation as a form of saving human life in Poland is still a controversial topic. The ongoing discussions concern both the legal regulations and the ethical and moral aspect of transplantation. Although transplants are routine procedures in our country, due to ignorance and the lack of clear legislative standards, too few of them are performed - there is even talk of a crisis in Polish transplantology. This subject must not remain taboo. It must be raised and its importance highlighted in medical and legal circles, because human health and life are at stake.
