ABSTRACT
Local security, as the lowest element of a state's internal security, is the subject of interest of many fields and scientific disciplines, in particular legal sciences, security sciences and sociology. The local space for shaping human security is crucial for the quality of life of residents and the development of communities. The presented article is devoted to the issue of personal security in the local community. The key issue is the state of feeling of security and threat on an individual level. These elements are directly linked to the functioning of the local community, its threats and development prospects. The aim of the article is to determine the importance of local space in the process of shaping human security. The article consists of four parts: introduction, the essence and types of local spaces, institutional and non-institutional forms of shaping local security, and conclusion.
