ABSTRACT
In the era of dynamic digital transformation, social media has become a key tool for communication, information exchange, and social influence. This article presents the threats to information security arising from the openness, speed of data flow, and widespread access to user-generated content. Particular emphasis is placed on the issues of disinformation, fake news, and manipulation of public opinion, which can destabilize societies and undermine trust in institutions. The author highlights the necessity of implementing comprehensive information risk management strategies that include both technological and educational solutions. The role of states, international institutions, and individual users in building informational resilience is emphasized. The article also points to the need for cross-sectoral cooperation, updates to legal regulations, and the development of digital competencies as key elements for effective information security management in the digital age.
